The Greater Fayette Republican Women's Club will hold a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m., at The Downtown Grill, 1158 Old Senoia Road, Tyrone. Guest speakers will be Harold Bost and Bob Ross of the Fayette County Issues Tea Party, who will discuss local plans to help defeat Roy Barnes in November. Zumba Fitness and Relay for Life Dance for a Cure is 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Brooks Elementary, 119 Price Road in Brooks. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the school.

The Moonlight Ballroom Dance Club of LaGrange will host a dance on Friday, September 10, at 8 p.m. at the LaFayette Christian School Gym at 1904 Hamilton Road in LaGrange (From Interstate 85, take Exit 14 and go toward LaGrange on Hwy 27N for about 1/8 mile - across from the Shell Station). A FREE INTRODUCTORY BEGINNER QUICKSTEP lesson will be at 7 p.m. Visitor couples and guests are always welcome - $20 per couple. Dress: smart casual. NCTC's Improvisational Comedy Troupe is called the NITWITS.  During the evening, the troupe plays a variety of games and performs a variety of skits based on a simple idea or premise.  Each evening is different and unique. The Fayette County Republican Party's September Saturday Breakfast will be held at the IHOP, 705 N. Jeff Davis Dr., Fayetteville, at 9 a.m. All interested Republicans are invited to attend. For more information, please call 770-716-1545.

A non-denominational prayer and worship meeting is scheduled to be held in the Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville from 5 p.m. to 8:30p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to pray for the victims of 9/11 and their families along with the military, police and firefighters who keep our country safe. In addition, prayers will be offered for our children and schools and for healthy marriage relationships. Pastors and worship bands from several local churches and Christian organizations will be participating. The schedule of events includes a combination of prayers, worship songs and testimonies. Highlights include performances by two local dance ministries. Speakers will not be introduced during the meeting in order to keep the focus on worship. Introduction to Photography with James Breest from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. James has three published photo books. HE spent time in New York doing haute fashion runway photography. Cry Out America will hold its Second annual prayer gathering at 12 noon on the steps of the historic Fayette County Courthouse. Parking will be available at the First Baptist Church and the Methodist Church behind the Courthouse Square. There will be one hour of prayer for our country from noon till 1 p.m. If you believe that our nation is in need of God's blessing, please join your fellow Christians and unite with us in prayer to commemorate this most important day for our county, our state, and our country. Patriot Day / Freedom Walk - Peachtree City will remember the lives of nearly 3,000 people killed on Sept. 11, 2001. The event will be held at Atlanta Regional Airport - Falcon Field at 9:30 a.m. with the "America Supports You Freedom Walk," followed at 10 a.m. with a formal program. The public is invited to participate in the walk, which is less than one mile and all on airport grounds. The formal program will be held at the Veterans Memorial at Falcon Field (Rain Location - Commemorative Air Force hangar on Echo Court).

One More Generation Silent Auction from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The paintings children painted in August will be auctioned with all proceeds going to save endangered species. For more information contact ArtWorks on the Square at 678-545-0275.

Propagating Shrubs, Trees and Plants from Semi-Hardwood Cuttings Gardening Workshop at the Coweta County Extension Greenhouse (lcoated beside the Horse Arena at the Coweta County Fairgrounds) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Fee is $15 and inludes instruction by experienced Master Gardeners, all plant materials and supplies, and 12 newly propagated plants to take home.
