Mr. Jack Clifford Ballard, Sr., of Hampton, passed away on May 20, 2012 at the age of 78.
Jack was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, and “Papa Jack”. He was loving, selfless, and always put the needs of others first. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lovejoy, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. He loved the great outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He worked as a Lead Customer Service Agent for Delta Air Lines, retiring with thirty years of service.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Pedalson Ballard and son, Jack C. Ballard, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Claudene Ballard; daughter Dianne Foster and her husband Charles of McDonough; son Gene Davies and his wife Gina of Forsyth; daughter Rhonda Wheeler and her husband Doug of Hampton; eight grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister Pat Sheffield of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Reverend Mike Hardin will officiate. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery, Hampton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the “Building Fund” of First Baptist Church of Lovejoy, 2347 Talmadge Rd, Lovejoy, GA 30250.
