Ten year-old nearly drowns at private pool party

By Staff Reports

Police report that a 10 year-old boy nearly drowned while he was attending a pool party at a private residence in Peachtree City. The child did not know how to swim and was unattended for only a couple of minutes. He was found at the bottom of the deep end of the pool and was pulled out by adults who immediately performed lifesaving CPR. A call was made to 911 and Peachtree City Fire Department Paramedics were on scene within two to three minutes and took over lifesaving measures by further stabilizing him and transporting the child in serious condition to Children's Healthcare-Egleston campus via helicopter which landed in the field near the Glenloch Recreation Center. Police are urging parents to not leave children unattended while swimming and always to remind them to always swim with a buddy.
