Claude Fryer, Jr.
Claude Fryer, Jr., 93, of Peachtree City, GA passed away in the arms of his daughter, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Southwest Christian Care, Union City, GA. He was born in Moore County, MO on January 12, 1921. He moved to Peachtree City, GA in 1984 and often said it was the best move he had ever made! Claude was a member of Peachtree City United Methodist Church, a U.S. NAVY veteran of WWII, and a lifetime member of the VFW. The loves of his life were his family, the Fryer Golf Group, playing bridge, and in his younger days, dancing, bowling and table tennis.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Adelaide Frances Johnston Fryer, his son 1LT Lee Johnston Fryer,  and three very special ladies, Marge Adams, Betty Clarke and Fran Wallace.
He is survived by his daughter Jean Fryer Raines and her husband Charles, of Newnan, GA; grandsons Charles A. Raines II and his wife, Amanda of Richmond, IN, and Christopher L. Raines and his wife Melissa, of Atlanta, GA; and great-grandchildren Hailey J. Raines and Luke J. Raines; niece Kay Lyons Vescio and nephews Michael Fryer, Richard Fryer, Kevin Fryer, Donald Fryer and Fred Lyons.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 5-8 p.m.at Carl J. Mowell and Son in Peachtree City, GA. Services will be held at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11 a.m., officiated by Dr. Steve Dodson and  Rev. Sean Robinson, with a reception at noon.  Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Floral Hills Cemetery, Tucker, GA.

Eugene C. (Genee) Martin 
Eugene C. (Gene) Martin, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away May 3, 2014.  He was born in East Point, GA to the late Edgar and Iola Martin.  He retired from the post office where he was connected with the Railway Mail Service.  He served in the Army Infantry during WW II with the 165th Infantry, 27th Division, Company D.  Gene was a devout Christian and member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church and Fellowship Class.  He was an avid sports fan, his favorite being baseball and college football.  He also enjoyed fishing.
He is predeceased by his first wife Dorothy Montgomery Martin; one son Larry Martin; one grandson Tyler Sargent; five brothers: Otis, Herbert, James, Marshall, and Tony; and two sisters Daisy and Margarite.  He is survived by his wife Wilma; one daughter Kelly (Ed) Sargent; and one grandson Jacob Sargent.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. the Overton Chapel of Fayetteville First Baptist Church, Fayetteville.  Reverend Glenn Stringham will officiate.  The burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Daniel David Patrick, Jr.
Daniel David Patrick, Jr., 88, of Fayetteville, passed away May 3, 2014.  Mr. Patrick was retired from Eastern Airlines after 38 years, he also served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy and in Korea in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include son David Patrick; son Will (Natalie) Patrick; grandchildren Tyler (Jenny) Patrick; Abbi Patrick; also nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn.  The family will receive friends from Saturday noon to 1:30 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Wounded Warriors Project in memory of Daniel D. Patrick, Jr. at www.woundedwarrior project.org.

William Lee Benson, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away May 6, 2014. He is survived by his wife Blanche Benson; daughter Elaine Benson; brother Jerry Benson; and sister-in-law Faye Benson. No services are planned at this time.

Charles Theron
Ballard
Charles Theron Ballard of Fayetteville, GA, passed away peacefully May 5, 2014 at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 15, 1949 to Edward Allen Ballard and Janice Williams Ballard. He retired from Georgia Power in 2011 after 42 years of faithful service. He served his country dutifully and was enlisted in the Army from 1970-1972 and served in Vietnam. Theron loved grilling, cooking shows, westerns, and especially his family and friends, and running to town every day for errands in his beloved truck.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Allen Ballard and granddaughter Baylee Elizabeth Brewer. Theron leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of 24 years Kay Ballard; daughter Pamela Ballard Brewer (Caleb); sons Colby Smith (Kristin) and Ben Smith (Jerry Marcum); granddaughter Kyra Smith; mother Janice Williams Ballard; brother William Ballard (Jamie); sisters Gloria Blakely (Larry), Julia Ivey (Douglas), Elender Akin, and Cindy Carpenter (Jerry); sister-in-law Joy Loesche (Mike); a host of nephews and nieces; a host of great-nieces and nephews and wonderful friends to cherish his memory.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Reverend Dennis Watson will officiate. The burial will follow at Brooks Memorial Gardens, Brooks. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or in support of Vietnam Veterans.
