Coweta Fayette working to restore power

2014-02-13

. We currently have over 12,000 outages and are optimistic those numbers will go down as ice melts. Our guys, along with additional crews from Alabama, Indiana, Mississippi and south Georgia, are busy repairing numerous broken poles and downed lines throughout the service area. We worked hard throughout the night, but the weight of icy tree limbs often resulted in lines being torn down as soon as they were repaired. Trees are continually falling, but we expect that to change as weather improves. Please note that our restoration process will likely continue into the weekend at some locations where exceptional damage has occurred. We understand this is very frustrating. There are long hours ahead, but we know we have the best members in the cooperative world. You have been very patient in an extremely tough situation, and we thank you for that. For anyone who needs shelter, please call the Perpetual Community Resource Center at 12 Savannah St. in Newnan at 404-769-1236. They will have warmth and food. If you have special medical needs, please make arrangements for care. We are here, and we are listening.
