The "30th Annual National Night Out" (NNO) is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) scheduled for Tuesday, October 1st, 2013. We cordially invite you to be a part of our NIGHT OUT 2013 team.
Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 36 million people participated in National Night Out 2012.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Peachtree City Police Department is hosting this year’s event. Numerous public safety and community based crime prevention agencies have committed their assets for this event. Fire department ladder trucks, helicopters, police vehicles, and various other pieces of public safety equipment will be present for educational presentations and viewing. An incentive based educational scavenger hunt is available for children to complete. Successful completion of the public safety scavenger hunt by the children will result in prizes.
