It was a busy weekend for Peachtree City authorities, with the police department reporting two armed robberies of local convenience stores on consecutive nights.
On Saturday, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a hold-up alarm at the Flash Foods at 1001 Crosstown Drive. While officers were responding to the scene, a second call came into 911 reporting an armed robbery.
A preliminary investigation revealed the offender, a white male, approximately six feet tall, 200 to 230 pounds on a large build, with light eyes and fair skin, entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. Several customers were in the store at the time of the incident and provided statements to the investigating officers. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue or black motorcycle helmet, black motorcycle jacket, and baggy blue jeans. He fled the scene on a sports type motorcycle on Crosstown Road.
On Sunday night, at around 8:15 p.m. officers again responded to an armed robbery report, this time at the Pit Stop at 100 Petrol Point. According to reports, the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. The man is described as a white male, approximately six feet tall, medium build, scruffy facial hair. He was last scene wearing a long sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash into the nearby area of Eastbrook Bend. Officers searched the area with K-9 teams. The public is strongly encouraged to report anyone matching the description of the offender in the area by calling 911 immediately.
