Carmen Margarita Gonzalez Algarin

Carmen Margarita Gonzalez Algarin, at the age of 81, peacefully passed away surrounded by her husband and children in Carrollton, on December 16, 2012. She was born October 1, 1931 in Juncos, Puerto Rico.

She worked at the Lilly Laboratory and Research Corporation for several years when she decided to leave in order to dedicate more time to her family. Carmen was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Carlos Gonzalez Soto; children Carmen G. Bush and husband David, Carlos A. Gonzalez, Laura I. Castro and husband Armando, Blanca M. Huston and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Michelle and Garrett, Antonio and Kelly, Edgardo, Nicolas, Ivan and Vanessa, Leslie Ann; great-grandchildren, Nadia, Natasha, Leann Victoria, Aiden, Andre; brothers, Rafael, Pedro, Carlos; numerous nieces and nephews.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Gonzalez and Carmen Algarin, and her brothers Ricardo and Angel. Carmen will always be loved and greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family received friends at Whitley-Garner Rosehaven Funeral Home on December 20, 2012 and Carmen was interred on December 21, 2012 at the Georgia National Cemetery.

A mass will dedicated to Carmen on January 12, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 210 Old Center Point Road, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Disease at www.michaeljfox.org

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Hospice Care in Carrollton for their kindness, generosity, and comfort.
