2013-01-08

Peeples Elementary School students recently experienced St. Lucia Day, which is a holiday celebrated on December 13 in Scandinavian countries.

It is a celebration of light and music traditionally held on the longest night of the year.  The Lucia train is a procession and is led by a girl who wears candles on her head.

Other girls in the procession wear white robes with a red sash and carry a candle.

The boys in the procession carry a wand with a star on the end and wear a white robe and a long, pointy white cap.
