The offseason wasn't ready to start just yet for some Sandy Creek Patriots. Four Patriots and their coach took part in the Georgia Junior Bowl this past week.
The Patriots had four players selected to compete among the best juniors in Georgia. Quarterback Cole Garvin, wide receiver Demarre Kitt, offensive lineman Ryan Warrior, and defensive lineman Chris Williams suited up for the West team with their head coach Chip Walker leading the way. The West team would score a 10-7 victory over the East.
The Georgia Junior Bowl is the first all-star football game built to showcase the top upcoming senior players in the state. More than just that, the game's purpose is to enhance recruiting exposure while aiding in their all-around development.
The event was more than just a football showcase. RisingSeniors.com formed an alliance with the NFL Players Association to bring a character and life skills development program to help the students prepare for the challenges ahead. Their Training Camp for Life program focused on topics like financial literacy, test prep and strategies, and alternate careers in sports. The program is in place to prepare junior student-athletes for their senior year by equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive academically, athletically, and socially. It is their believe that they are the tools necessary for a successful transition to their senior year, college, and beyond.
