State Representative Virgil Fludd entertains Burch’s Pre-K students as he reads from the picture book “Lunch.”

Pre-K students at Robert J. Burch Elementary helped celebrate the 20th anniversary of Georgia’s Pre-K program with a visit from State Representative Virgil Fludd.

Burch student ambassadors took Fludd on a tour of the school, and afterwards he spent time talking with the Pre-K faculty and school administrators about the many ways the program is supporting early learning.

The highlight of the visit was when he read the picture book, “Lunch,” to the students in Burch’s Pre-K classroom.

Fludd’s visit also marked the state’s second official year of Pre-K Week, sponsored by Voices for Georgia’s Children, which was celebrated October 1-5.
