200 Backpacks with School Supplies Donated to CARE

For three consecutive years, Keller Williams Realty Atlanta-Fayetteville has worked to ensure that local students return to school prepared to learn.

Realizing that beginning the school year with the appropriate materials is crucial for learning, and can give children great confidence and an incentive to excel, the Keller Williams staff donated 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to the Fayette County Public School System’s CARE (Children at Risk in Education) program.

Backpacks and school supplies are the top must have back-to-school items for students. With many Fayette families dealing with layoffs and pay cuts due to the economy, these essentials are hard, and sometimes impossible, for parents to provide.

“We can use every backpack and all the school supplies that Keller Williams has provided. I have had numerous requests from counselors for backpacks, especially at the high school level. Every bit of what has been donated will be used. There is a great need throughout our schools for back-to-school items, and I cannot thank Keller Williams enough for providing these essentials for our students,” says Karen Spangler, coordinator of the school system’s CARE program.
